3 Most mysterious and haunted places in the world

Updated: Sep 21, 2022

1)Chaonei Church, Beijing, China

The location: The North China Union Language School, better known as Chaonei 81, was first constructed in 1910 to instruct missionaries from the West in Mandarin Chinese. Chaonei 81 is also referred to as Chaonei Church.

Up until the communist government took over the structure in the 1950s, the most magnificent mansion in Beijing's Chaoyangmen district was used as a Catholic church. As for the building's actual history, there is still some debate.

The souls: According to one gory legend about the history of Chaonei Church, a Chinese National Party official lived there in 1949. That tale didn't have a happy ending.

So, depending on your luck, you might find the mistress of a government figure who committed suicide there after the two of them split up, or you might find a gang of three inebriated construction workers who broke into the building and vanished. Unsettlingly, even in the summer, it is stated that the temperature in the house is significantly lower than that of the rest of Beijing.

Present condition:The house is still vacant, though. Beijing residents avoid the area since it is thought to be the most haunted because they are afraid of the ghostly residents. Unless, of course, there's a chance to shoot a movie there...

2)Bhangarh Fort, Rajasthan, India

The location: Bhangarh Fort, the remains of a fort city constructed in the 17th century, is made up of three opulent stories of fort walls, bazaars, havelis, royal residences, and several temples. The fact that these remains are beautiful should not deceive you, as they are considered to be India's most haunted fort.

The Souls:The ghosts are a wizard named Singhia and the princess Ratnavati who rejected him. According to legend, when she tossed away the enchanted oil he had hoped would make her fall in love with him, it transformed into a boulder and crushed him. However, not before he cursed the palace and doomed its citizens to death with no chance of rebirth. Another legend holds that the fort was cursed by a local ascetic whose property was overshadowed by the fort's shadow. And if anyone tries to construct a roof for the fort, it will reportedly fall down.

Situation today: Bhangarh Fort, often known as the "House of Ghosts," is now an archaeological site. You can hire a tour guide to walk you around the location and explain its strange history. The fort is closed between sunset and daybreak because locals believe that anyone who spends the night among the ruins would never be found again. As a result, it is best to visit during the day.

3)Monte Cristo Homestead,

New South Wales, Australia

The location: A wealthy landowner named Christopher William Crawley constructed a late Victorian home with elaborate cast iron lattice work in 1876. Supposedly the spookiest house in Australia.

The Souls:Those ghosts are up for grabs. A young child who was dropped down the stairs, a maid who fell from the balcony, or a stable boy who perished in a fire are just a few examples. The spirit of the caretaker's son, who was discovered curled up next to his mother's body and tied up for 40 years, is the most active, though.

Situation today: The house is currently a bed and breakfast, offering meals and a ghost tour where guests can hear all about its tragic past. The spooky farmhouse is available for overnight stays for those who dare.
